Acceptance Speech:
Thank you for electing me to a second term as your National President. This
past year has been a learning experience for me. Many times, I have felt like I
was swimming upstream in fast-moving water. But I realized that I had many
people who supported me and gave me very sage advice when I needed a little
support.
One of the things I struggled with most was making difficult decisions. I had
to dig deep within myself and find the courage to act on my convictions. I
found that I had to be brave enough to make these decisions, and if the outcome
was good or bad, I had to “stick to my guns” and accept the consequences.
Being brave and courageous is something that I find very hard to do. Believe
it or not I was not a very outspoken person when I was young. I found it very
hard to stand up to criticism and opposition. But I found a quote that has given me both bravery and courage.
“God chooses what we go through—We choose how we go through it!”
My theme for the next year has to do with lions.
Just like the lion,
Be brave and stand tall.
Rise up no matter
How many times you fall.
Find courage to see things through.
Dig deep down inside,
You are braver than you know,
In that you can take pride.
My theme for this year is “Be Brave and Courageous”.
Thank you again for re-electing me as National President. I will strive to “Be Brave and Courageous”
